Giovanni Sorge
Live-in-Counsellor
Giovanni graduated in Venice and obtained his PhD in Zurich. His background is in philosophy, literature, and religious studies. He went on to focus on history of psychoanalysis and especially C.G. Jung’s history and hermeneutics.
Based in Zurich for over 20 years, he done made extensive research in international archives and served as scientific advisor for cultural institutions as well as private clients. He worked to promote Italian culture and has been lecturing and publishing internationally.
After working as caregiver for a Swiss company, he joined The Kusnacht Practice in early 2018 as a part of the Live-in-Counsellor Team. He provides clients with flexible, creative, individually tailored support for them to find focus and motivation. He works to create a peaceful atmosphere for the client and to provide support as they take their first steps on the journey of change. He enjoys his role at The Kusnacht Practice and being part of a team focused on supporting clients and their families through difficult times, into a place of hope.
Giovanni has large areas of interest that encompass philosophy, depth psychology, cinema, and spirituality, and practices power yoga and Wing Tsun.
He also offers private classes on the history of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, emotional intelligence and critical thinking.
